OUR SERVICES

1

EXAMINATION

Our chiropractic examination is a focused assessment to identify the cause of your discomfort. We review your health history and check posture, movement, and neurological function to spot tension or imbalance.

This clear, efficient process helps us create a personalised treatment plan to improve mobility and reduce pain.

2

MASSAGE

Remedial Deep Tissue Massage helps promote blood flow and reduce muscle tightness before chiropractic adjustments.

By releasing trigger points (knots) and general tension, this treatment supports better movement and prepares the body for effective alignment. Improving these restrictions can correct underlying mechanical problems and enhance the results chiropractic care.

3

CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT

The traditional chiropractic adjustment (cracking) helps restore joint movement, reduces pain and inflammation and improves spinal biomechanics for a better functioning spine.

These adjustments affect the Central Nervous System and help decrease nerve interference, allowing for better signalling to different parts of the body.

4

DRY NEEDLING

A proven treatment involving needles being inserted precisely into areas of dysfunction to help tissue healing and recovery.

Based on current medical research, it utilises the electrical and chemical signalling that occurs in our nervous systems to decrease muscle tightness, reduce pain and improve blood flow to spasmed muscles.

5

REHABILITATION

As your body begins to move better again, it’s important to incorporate specific and targeted exercises to improve strength and stability in those problem areas.

When appropriate, we’ll also prescribe these exercises to support your recovery and help reduce the likelihood of injuries recurring, keeping you moving well for the long term.

Care that helps you move better and live fully again.
Our chiropractic treatment targets the root causes of pain with proven techniques, backed by years of expertise and personalised treatment plans to get you moving better, faster.

FAQs

What to expect on your first visit?

For the initial consultation, we allow 45 minutes where you’ll chat with a chiropractor detailing your concerns, go through a thorough examination, and if suitable, receive treatment on the same day.

We’ll explain everything clearly and outline a plan to help you move better.

What conditions do chiropractors treat?

We treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including back and neck pain, headaches, joint stiffness, posture-related issues, and sports or work-related injuries.

We also treat other peripheral areas such as shoulders, elbows and knees, focusing on improving movement, reducing pain, and supporting overall joint and spinal health.

How long is an appointment?

The initial consultation goes for approximately 45 mins, where we’ll discuss the history, assessment and treatment.

The following standard appointments last for 30 mins and will generally include massage, and adjustments/mobilisations.

There is an option for a longer appointment for those wanting further treatment, or with many concerns.

Do I need a GP referral to visit a chiropractor?

Chiropractors are primary healthcare providers, so you don’t need a GP referral to book an appointment at Compass Chiropractic. However, if you’re wanting to use a Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, then your GP will need to prepare it before your visit.

Is chiropractic care safe for me?

Chiropractic is a regulated allied health profession delivered by AHPRA-registered chiropractors who complete five years of accredited study.

Treatments here at Compass Chiropractic are based on current evidence, professional training, and the individual’s specific needs. Chiropractic is non-invasive and does not involve medication or surgery.

Will the chiropractic visit be painful?

It is normal that people may feel some mild pain or discomfort during treatment, as tight muscles and tissues are being released - similar to the sensation experienced during a massage.

There can also be some mild discomfort or soreness afterwards, but our Chiropractor will work with your tolerance levels and adjust pressure as required. Most people will notice immediate relief afterwards.

What should I bring on my first visit?

Please bring any past imaging (X-rays) or reports (MRI, CT scans) and wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement.

If you have private health insurance, bring your health fund card or Digital card so you can claim on the spot through our HICAPS terminal.

What is a chiropractic adjutsment?

A chiropractic adjustment helps improve movement and reduce tension in restricted joints of the spine. After assessing your condition, our chiropractor applies gentle, targeted pressure by hand to restore function and ease stiffness.

At Compass Chiropractic, we can also use gentle mobilisation techniques that focus on improving movement with gentler force.

Is it safe to see a chiropractor while pregnant?

Yes - many people see a chiropractor during pregnancy to help with comfort and mobility. Our Chiropractor is trained to adjust safely throughout pregnancy and will modify techniques if required.

If you have any specific medical concerns, it’s always best to chat with your GP first.
